What size marquee would I need?
The size of the marquee we would recommend is generally determined by the number of guests attending your event. For seated rows we recommend approx 6 square feet per person, for a finger buffet we recommend 7 square feet per person and for a formal seated function, we recommend 13 square feet per person. In addition you will need to allow space for any staging, dance floor, bar or food serving areas etc.
Do you do a site visit?
Yes, we can arrange a without obligation free site visit at your convenience, to discuss your requirements.
How much does a marquee cost?
The cost of a marquee is dependent on a number of factors such as size, lining flooring, lighting etc. Please see our Hire Charges which can be used as a guide. A written quotation will be given after a satisfactory site visit.
Are there any hidden charges?
No. All our quotations are fully itemised, and will include all possible extras including insurance or delivery charges if applicable. VAT is not chargeable.
How and when do I pay?
A 20% booking deposit is required to secure your marquee; the balance of the payment is to be made on delivery.
How long is your marquee hire period?
For a weekend event, the marquee is yours for both Saturday and Sunday (unless otherwise specified). During the week, the length of the marquee hire period is by arrangement.
What is the difference between lined and unlined marquees?
Marquee linings provide a more luxurious finish to a marquee for more formal events. With unlined marquees, the walls are visible, making them better suited to more casual or functional events
Can marquees be opened in warm weather?
Yes. The walls of our marquees can be easily opened and secured to suit your requirements.
What do I put on the floor?
For an informal event or garden party, if the grass or ground that the marquee is to be erected on is flat enough, you can do without anything. Alternatively we can supply traditional woven red coconut matting laid over a polythene moisture barrier.
Can we put up a marquee in our garden?
Yes. We can erect a marquee in most large gardens in a choice of sizes to suit party numbers. Please arrange a site visit to see what would suit you best.
Will a marquee damage our garden?
Grass that has been covered for several days will temporarily discolour, however it should recover within 7 days.
When will you erect my marquee?
Depending on the time of year, for weekend functions we erect our marquee on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, and take them down on the following Monday or Tuesday. Please let us know if you have any special requirements.
