WEDDING RECEPTIONS
A Wedding Reception held in a Traditional Marquee, allows the bride and groom to stamp their own personal character on an event in any way they choose, unlike in a building where the decorative possibilities may be limited by the size and shape of the venue.
Our Marquee can be equipped with luxurious pleated linings, rich coloured floor matting and many other additions to complete the scene. For day time events, an open sided marquee can create a more informal atmosphere.
Hiring our traditional marquee offers you the opportunity to welcome guests to a wedding reception at your home (without the usual mess) at a time and date of your choosing. Where you can party until 6.00am if you wish!
Alternatively if siting the marquee is a problem, we can host the event in the grounds of The Star Inn at Waldron. The Star Inn is a popular venue for Wedding Receptions and can cater for your food and drinks requirements. It has a reputation for high standards in fine dining and with a great team in the kitchen led by Head Chef Nick Botting, you can be secure in the knowledge that your food will be freshly prepared and be of the highest standard.
The Star Inn can offer a choice of three or four courses sit down dining and all menus are designed on a personal basis, allowing personal choice and variety that can be tailor made to suit you and your party. For more of a buffet style they can offer sit down fork buffets where we are serving the top table - or finger buffets for a very informal feel.
They also have a BBQ in the gardens, so if preferred can offer a relaxed home cooked BBQ with a small Marquee in the grounds.
Marquee layout
Careful planning of the layout of a marquee is especially important for weddings to ensure the impression on guests is absolutely right.
Aspects you should consider include:
allowing space for a reception area and buffet tables
the position of the Bride and Groom, and the Cake Table
access for any catering staff
the position of a bar area
size of the dance floor
should the dance floor be central or to one side
